After a ruptured spinal disc paired with surgery and lots of physical therapy; she became so interested in all other areas of veterinary medicine and what could be offered. She has worked in the field for about 5 years. Shawna started at a specialty with 14 different departments and then went into emergency medicine and even in overnight ER. Shawna thinks she has found her home in their little general practice here in RiNo. In her free time you’ll catch her winning a game of magic the gathering, reading manga or watching anime. In the winter she snowboards in the mountains, once its warm you’ll find her on her paddle board. She has recently got into cosplaying and pretending to be her favorite characters.

Liz

Veterinary Nurse

Growing up Liz was always surrounded by animals, naturally she grew a passion for our furry friends, especially cats (they were her family’s primary pet). When a door was opened for her to enter the veterinary world as a receptionist back in 2018, she ran with my opportunity.

After achieving her goal as becoming veterinary technicians’ assistant at her first clinic, she grew hungry for more knowledge and new challenges. She later left her primary care clinic and pursued the realms of a veterinary ER.

In the fall of 2021, Liz moved to Colorado for more job opportunities and landed in a Cat Specialty Clinic where she assisted for just short of a year. She was a sponge during this time, taking in many tips and tricks for her feline friends. So much that she has coined the title of the cat whisperer and at times many of her colleagues request her assistance. It’s a great feeling to be relied on, and she loves to share some of the skills and knowledge she has picked up to help make her coworkers more comfortable handling the higher maintenance felines. She feels she ended up with a great work family where we pass on skills and elevate each other to provide the best care we can for your furry friends. Thank you for trusting us with your pet!
